Makeup Insight 101 - About Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter

Whats a blush? A bronzer? A shimmer? A highlighter?

BLUSH - The word blush means an increased supply of blood to your cheeks, when you are shy, worried or in crush lol
So ya it means a redness to your cheek. Makeup blushes are generally found in pink,  magenta, coral, orange and red shades. They are applied to the apples of your cheek to give you that innocent look or add a bit color to your face to ooze glamour because only a foundation applied face really looks dull and boring.
Brand recommendation - From my experience i can suggest - MAC, ELF, MILANI, NYC, COVERGIRL, MAYBELLINE, LA Splash AND ELF

There are normal blushes and there are baked blushes. Baked blushes means the colors and ingredients were actually baked which gives it a swirly appearance.

Baked blushes are intensified in color, they are more pigmented. So ya if you have an opportunity, go for a baked one. My favorite blushes available in low price but good quality are - ELF, SHIVANNA AND LA Splash.
For a really natural blushed glow I use ELF Pink Passion blush

BRONZERS - These are makeup products used to contour your face, accentuate your bony prominences and features. These are found in light to dark brown colors. For contouring I would suggest you pick  bronzer that's like one or two shade DARKER than your original skin tone. If you want a good contouring because you have a round face or your features are not very prominent, then go for a bronzer that's atleast two tones darker than your original skin color.
Being Bangladeshi means we are brown people so contouring must always be done with bronzers that are shades of brown. DON'T go for red blushes or orange blushes to contour. That seriously looks fake.
Ideal bronzers in terms of quality and money  in my experience- ELF essential bronzer (just 1usd and its totally worth it), NYC smooth skin bronzer in sunny, NYC Mosaic bronzer, MUA Mosaic Bronzer, Flormar Bronzer.
Also if you have bought a face powder that's too dark for your skin tone and you cant use it then that can be used as a bronzer too.

HIGHLIGHTERS - Highlighters are makeup products that are applied to certain parts of your face like above your cheek bone, on your brow bone, nose bridge etc that will reflect light when light falls on your face and give your face a shine and a healthy glow to avoid a matte dull face or  to accentuate or highlight features of your face like your cheeks, cupid etc. It can be done with concealers and highlighters/illuminators/shimmers.
When highlighting with concealers, use a concealer that's one shade LIGHTER than your skin tone. I personally don't prefer shimmers as i don't like a sparkly look. But many may prefer for night time parties.

When using actual highlighters/illuminators - go for shade that compliments your skin undertone. If you have red undertone then go for pinkish/whitish type illuminators. But if you have yellow or warm undertone, its best if you choose one that's yellowish (like Benefit Moon or Sun Beam)
Illuminators I prefer - Benefit High Beam, ELF's $3 Radiance Enhancer
Highlighter I prefer - ELF concealer and highlighter duo,
Concealers I prefer - Revlon Age Defying concealer, ELF maximum coverage concealer and MAC Prolongwear concealer. Remember not to use stick concealers for highlighting. Always use liquid ones.

Hope this was helpful. Leave a word if it was or if you have any query or suggestion regarding this post. Thanks a bunch :)

P.S. These are pictures taken from internet. I will post my own pictures when I do reviews of a certain product.
